Indonesian food which is no less famous as foreign food is meatballs. These meat circles, commonly called pentols, have many fans from all over the world.
Meatballs are foods made from beef, shrimp, fish that are chopped and crushed with starch and egg white, usually shaped round.
In Indonesia, there are many kinds of meatballs, some made from beef, chicken, fish, and many more. Even now meatballs are no longer just meat balls but can be filled with various kinds. Quail eggs, chicken eggs, chili, chili sauce, sausages, and cheese can be filled.
Not only the contents, even the way of serving meatballs is varied, some use gravy as usual, some are burned, some are mixed with chili sauce.
How to make chicken meatballs :
- Chicken meat 1 kg, boneless, ground
- 50 g starch
- Eggs 1 item
- Pepper powder tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Garlic 4 cloves, puree
- Fried onion 2 tbsp
- 40 cubes of ice, crush it
- 2 Liter water
How to make :
- Add the ground chicken meat into the container, mix starch, eggs, powdered pepper, salt, mashed garlic and fried shallots.
- If the pentol batter is still difficult to form, add ice and also mixed starch until it is right.
- Boil the water in the pan until it boils.
- Take the meat mixture by hand then round it well with both hands or with one hand pressed until the mixture comes out through the index finger and thumb.
- Add the formed mixture into hot water.
- Continue until all the dough runs out.
